Our Mission:
Morey Middle School is located in the Capitol Hill Neighborhood of Denver. We are part of the Denver Public Schools System and host grades 6th, 7th, and 8th. We currently have 815 students.
Our student population is made up of 38.2% White, 31.2% African-American, 27.1% Hispanic, 3.1% Asian and 0.5% American Indian. Approximately 50% of our students are on the free/reduced lunch rate.
Morey Middle School was established in 1921 after Chester S. Morey, a School Board member from 1892 to 1895.
The Mission of Denver Public Schools is: “To provide all students the opportunity to achieve the knowledge and skills necessary to become contributing citizens in our diverse culture.”
Morey offers students an academically challenging environment with an emphasis in all classes on comprehension, literacy, and technology.

In addition to the core classes, a vast number of electives are offered to our students. Morey also houses two special self-contained programs, ED (Emotionally Disturbed) and our Autistic Program.
