Congratulations to Morey’s own Jon’Nae Richardson!
She was recently nominated and selected as an award recipient for the John Lynch Foundation. The John Lynch Foundation has a monthly program that recognizes student athletes who excel in academics, athletics and community involvement from Denver metro public and private schools.
Ms. Hansen, Jon’Nae’s coach and World History teacher, nominated her because of her hard work and dedication to athletics, academics, and her community. Jon’Nae was the Morey girls basketball team’s leading scorer for the 2009-2010 season. Jon’Nae is focused to make sure she is on the right track in pursuing her collegiate dreams. |

Girl’s Volleyball Team
The Morey Middle School girl’s volleyball team defeated Greenwood in a two game match on Monday winning 21-4, 21-7. The girls had an outstanding match with Nyree Henderson and Mackenzie Edwards serving a majority of the points.
Shayna Yon also contributed to the win with some outstanding net play and awesome spikes. Morey has played 4 matches so far this season and has a record of 3-1 with our only loss coming in the first match played against Slavens.
The team is a mix of 6th, 7th and 8th graders and we are working hard on getting everyone ready for some tough matches to come later in the season.
