MOREY’S PARENT COUNCIL HAS BEEN WORKING HARD!

The Parent Council at Morey is hard at work on some wonderful things for the spring!

First and foremost, our inaugural ONLINE AUCTION is moving full steam ahead!  Special thanks to committee chairs Lani Kessler and Angela Norris-Hawkins for taking the lead on this project.  It is a huge undertaking and both of these parents have already spent many hours getting the auction website setup, creating donation forms and letters, delegating tasks to committee volunteers, and spearheading the solicitation of donations from our parent community and their networks!

This is our main fundraiser for the spring, taking the place of the Morey/Teller Palooza of the past two years.  All proceeds raised from this fundraiser go toward our student INTERSESSIONS.

Every student at Morey will benefit from this, so please do your part by adding a donated item, bidding on an item when the auction goes live on APRIL 6TH – 27th, and by getting the information to your family and networks.

If every Morey family donates and bids on at least 1 item, we will meet and hopefully EXCEED our goal!

Our Social/Hospitality Committee is planning a Spring Social Event for Morey families.  It will take place in late April (exact date TBA) and will be a great opportunity to bring the Morey community together for an evening of food, games, and fun!  Keep an eye out for more information to come!

Lastly, several of the committee chairs currently serving on Parent Council are 8th grade parents, so this is their last year at Morey.  We will be in need of enthusiastic parents to fill these positions for the 2010-11 school year.  If you are interested and would like to find out more about Parent Council, feel free to attend any of our meetings during the remainder of this school year.

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.  You can also contact Karen Duell in Room 102 for more information.
